Erudin has always been a city that believed in its own permanence. The white towers, the libraries, the guild halls of the Deepwater Knights -- all of it built to last, and all of it now on fire. The nightmare version of Erudin is not a ruin frozen in time. It is a city actively in the process of falling, the battle between the Erudite citizens and the Heretic invaders locked in a perpetual losing moment that Terris Thule has carefully arranged to never resolve.
That is the particular cruelty of this zone. The Deepwater Knights are still fighting. The wounded are still being tended. The port authority building still stands. There is just enough resistance to feel like it matters, and not enough to ever turn the tide. Terris and her minions move through the city ensuring the dream holds -- giving the defenders precisely the amount of hope required to keep them in it.
For adventurers, Erudin Burning is a large outdoor zone with a substantial population spread across recognizable city landmarks: the docks, the library, the palace, the guild halls. Three group missions launch here, contributing to the Tier 2 progression requirement alongside the missions from The Library, The Grounds, and The Well.
